Hack for the People Begins Today with $15,000 worth of prizes!
Hack for the People starts today (Friday, August 21)! The Opening Ceremony will be held today at 10 AM ET and will feature keynote speaker Bjarme Stroustrup, the creator of C++. You can find the link to the opening ceremony and all of our workshops and panels on our website here.
Prizes:
We have over $15,000 worth of prizes for this event! These prizes include cash, internship/job opportunities, Amazon gift cards, a Google Cloud Patagonia backpack, an invitation to apply to the Google Cloud COVID-19 hackathon fund, the opportunity to have your work featured at the Harvard Art Museum Lightbox Gallery or host a panel with TedxHarvardCollege, automatic entry to research fellowships, thousands of dollars in AWS credits, Venus fly traps, and much more!
Workshops & Events:
We will have many workshops including Intro to Web Dev, From Cash to Crowdfunding: Bringing Your Ideas to Life (feat. Founder and CEO of Holdette), How to Build a Cloud-Connected AR/VR App in 15 minutes or less (feat. COO of echoAR).
We will also be hosting two Minecraft tournaments with HyperX gaming gear as prizes!
Important Event Details:
Make sure you are registered through our Typeform. You will not be eligible for prizes if you do not fill out this form in addition to registering on Devpost, and no exceptions will be made.
Join our Intercollegiate Discord to form teams, get live announcements on workshops and speakers, and ask questions. Once you are in the Intercollegiate Discord, please read the rules and react with a checkmark in the #welcome channel. Then, proceed to the #check-in channel under Hack for the People and react with a checkmark there to get access to all of the hackathon event channels.
Use the #introduce-yourself and #team-building channels to meet other hackers and form teams!
Each team is allowed to have anywhere from 1-4 team members. To be eligible for prizes, teams must submit their project by Sunday, August 23, 2020 at 1 PM ET.
